With this license i always hoped to do more than use the standard Scarface image, but Universal had other ideas.

This is the first gift range ever licensed by Haynes(other than Chunk T-Shirts), It was a great project which i had 9 days to come up with concepts. Looking back there are things i would change, but hey it still won gift of the year, and has generated lots of business for the company I design for.

I still get a warm fuzzy feeling when I see people with the shoulder bags in the streets.

A relatively new license which has been a joy to design due to the freedom and choice of source material. Kept the first range simple to help establish the merchandise now I am working on a more designed/ artistic range of product.

Have had feedback that the band love the product and use it in there recording studios and on tour.

This is a photo from the recent 'Farewell to the Pigs' event hosted in the City of Bath (UK). This was the climax of a public art exhibition set around fictional character king bladud & his pigs. This was an event to raise money for the 'Two Tunnels' charity. These pigs were gathered in front of the Royal Crescent one last time before they are sent to market (auction).

Was a difficult event to take pictures, because of the massive popularity of the pigs the crowds were very large, you couldn't help but jab a small child in the eye with a tripod leg!

But all in all a good finish to the whole event.

This is a shot recently taken on a jaunt around Bath with fellow photography enthusiast Christina (see right hand side of picture, she is the giant). We were out looking for an opportunity to emulate a local flickr hero who goes by the name 'Jibbo'. This shot is my homage to Jibbo's photography style of using reflective surfaces, especially puddles.

HIM Poster

HIM is one of the many bands I design merchandise for. I tend only to design gift ware so I decided to experiment and design a poster. I used Go Media clip art for the majority of the design, the rest was other found items. I wanted a maxamilist feel so the piece took on a more luxurious feel. As for the colour scheme, I just like black, white & pink... I don't know why?

A little vector practice, I have always been interested by the construction of Samurai armour, especially the helmet and face mask. Could you imagine the faces of invaders when confronted with these distinctive armour.

(I have no idea what the writing means, so answers on a postcard please!)

Proposed Beatles T-shirts

The gift ware company I work for has a Beatles license, and produce a lot of Beatles merchandise. I was charged with the brief to come up with a new look for a range, they wanted a psychedelic feel to it. I came up with pages and pages of concepts, but a few of them have potential. These are approved designs, and they suit t-shirts more than the general product I produce at work, but our company doesn't have the T-shirt license, so they have been shelved for now.

Fingers crossed that one day they will see some shelf space, heres hoping.

The Egg Theatre, Bath

I recently had the pleasure to rehearse for a theatre production in Bath's Theatre Royal's youth theatre, The Egg. A modern space, which utilities the space so well, and has such a great vibe to it. So i couldn't resist the opportunity to take a couple of panoramic shots of the interior.

This is all new to me!

Hello

Like the tittle of this post suggests, I am new to this blogging. I have seen lots of great blogs out on the world wide web so decided to see if anyone would be interested in what i do for a living and for fun.

I'm an artist, or more to the point i am a Graphic Designer (artist don't make money until they shuffle off the mortal coil! i don't want to wait that long!). I thought it might be an idea to showcase some of my work on this blog so that many anonymous internet surfers can, without consequence, talk smack about what i do. If im lucky the design community who i hear so much about but never seem to meet can pass comment on my work. In short i want validation for what i do!

So bookmark this blog and come back and see what delights i will post.
